— used to indicate a fact or situation that is being thought of when a statement is made

— sometimes used informally in speech without a following object to suggest something that is being thought of without being specifically mentioned

He didn't win, but he did very well, considering. [=he did well when you consider the situation or circumstances]

He did well, considering (that) he had no experience.

She surprised us when she left the company so suddenly, especially considering (that) she had worked here for 20 years.
